I

have

completed

the

City

and

Guilds

2391

Level

3

course

in

Initial

and

Periodic

Inspection

and

Testing

of

Electrical

Installations.

This

qualifies

me

to

provide

certificates

for

the

installation

work

that

I

do

as

well

as

testing

and

inspecting

installations

that

are

already

in

service.

I

also

have

both

Public

Liability

and

Professional

Indemnity

Insurance

to

cover

the

work

I

carry out in your home.

Also,

you

may

wish

to

have

the

fixed

wiring

in

your

home

tested

and

inspected

periodically

for

a

number

of

reasons.

It

is

recommended

that

you

have

periodic

inspection

and

testing

done

at

least

every

10

years,

or

sooner

if

you

are

a

landlord

renting

out

a

property.

This

results

in

a

kind

of

certification

called

an

Electrical

Installation

Condition

Report;

called

a

report,

rather

than

a

certificate,

as

the

certificate

given

with

a

new

installation

confirms

it’s

design

and

construction,

whereas

a

condition

report

uses

similar

tests

and

inspections

to

confirm

that

your

electrics

are

safe

for

continued

use.

You

may

need

this

doing

to

satisfy

the

requirements

of

your

home

insurance,

after

a

major

event

that

caused

damage

to

your

home,

prior

to

selling

your

house

or

simply

for

your

peace

of

mind.

It

would

also

be

a

good

idea

to

have

such

an

inspection

done,

if

you

don’t

have

recent

certificates

or

reports

to

hand,

so

as

to

assess

the

current

condition

of

your

installation

prior

to

undertaking

any

new

modifications.

I

am

a

local

domestic

electrician

based

in

Ripley

Derbyshire,

so

can

easily

tackle

jobs

in

areas

North

of

Derby,

such

as

Quarndon

and

West

of

Nottingham

like

Borrowash

and

Trowell,

plus

nearby

towns

such

as

Ilkeston,

Heanor,

Eastwood,

Alfreton,

Belper,

Duffield,

Kirkby in Ashfield, Matlock, West Hallam, etc.
