When I took my Level 3 Inspection and Testing Course (City & Guilds 2391-52), we were told by

our tutor that we could create our own forms on Excel easily enough. I found the IET’s model

forms in PDF format, but couldn’t fill them in on my computer. Somebody else has produced an

editable PDF (https://www.electriciansforums.net/resources/eic-electrical-installation-

certificate-editable-pdf-based-on-iet-model-form.118/), but I also wanted a single signature form

and a few other things, to make it more suitable for a sole trader carrying out domestic work.

This took me hours, probably at least two working days! So, for any other domestic electrician

who wants a form that contains all the main features, but they can edit how they like, here they

are:

They may need a little bit of reformatting prior to use, depending which software you open them

in, but the good thing is, you can make them look exactly how you want them and add in

anything extra you think you will need. Make sure to fill everything in correctly (I’ve mostly left

sections in red that need to be changed). It is highly recommended that you have taken the

above mentioned course, or the City & Guilds Fundamental Inspection, Testing and Initial

Verification (2392) course before trading as an Inspector of Electrical Installations. These forms

are purely my interpretation of what is sufficient in meeting the current wiring regulations

requirements for Inspection, Testing and Certification, for the type of electrical work that I carry

out and are not endorsed by the IET, the NICEIC, ELECSA, NAPIT, or any other regulatory bodies,

neither do I claim any affiliation with Microsoft or their file types!
